This paleontology mug features the logo for the regrettably fictional Burgess Shale Pale Ale. This green beer logo features a cartoon silhouette of a Marella fossil (one of the odd creatures of the Cambrian Burgess Shale fauna), above the words Burgess Shale Pale Ale. The design also features a few stalks of barley, the phrase "Estd. 505 Ma," referring to the 505 million year age of the Burgess Shale, and the selling phrase "Exceptional Preservation," referring to the fantastic soft-bodied fossils found in the shale. The quality of these larger mugs is very good. I have been putting mine through the dishwasher all the time and it shows no signs of fading or dulling. Ergonomically these are lovely to hold and have fast become my favourite mug for a big cup of tea or coffee. Totally recommend getting the tea infuser with the mug especially if you like using loose leaf tea, which always tastes better from my experience and is better for the environment. Printing was good, bright and most importantly accurately matches the colouring shown on the website.
