BUKVAR' - Primer of Karion Istomin Poster

Created for the Tsar's children in Moscow in 1694, the "Primer of Karion Istomin" uses both text and images as emblems in its presentation of the letters of the Old Church Slavonic alphabet. The text was written by Karion Istomin (1648-1717) and the images are from engravings by Leontii Bunin. The images reproduced here are from facsimiles of the original (archived in the National Public Library of M.E. Saltykov-Shchedrin in St. Petersburg) which were published in 1981 under the title "Bukvar' Kariona Istomina" by the Leningrad publisher Avrora. my staff loves it , and other branch is asking me where i got this and i give your website to them. maybe you can add up on personalised option, laminated or a frame maybe . great job. but you can add an option if we wanted to have it laminated or frame as add up option

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
