"Buddha Walking Among the Flowers" was painted by Odilon Redon in 1905. Redon created five artworks of the Buddha between 1904 and 1908.
Odilon Redon was a French Symbolist artist known for his paintings and drawings of mythology and flowers. Although he was a contemporary of Monet and Renoir, Impressionism was not for him. Redon preferred an art of subjectivity and imagination. He was regarded by many of the Surrealists as their precursor.
