Bronze Lion, Angel of Independence Poster
A dark bronze lion strides across the foreground of the Angel of Independence, a small bronze child figure holding a garland beside it. Behind and above, a carved shield on the plinth reads 1810 and 1821, white marble figures sit around the base, and the fluted column carries the gilded winged Angel at the top with a wreath raised overhead. Shooting from ground level stacks the lion, the marble figures and the gold Angel into one steep vertical, so the eye climbs the picture. Cumulus breaks up the blue behind it and keeps the upper half from going flat. This listing uses the upright crop. Printed on semi-gloss poster paper, which keeps the colour saturated without the weight of canvas.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
