In 1868 Utah Valley was so lawless, that Brigham Young considered an assignment to reside in Provo, Texas, or Hell roughly equivalent. He was trying to send the reluctant former mayor of Salt Lake City, Abraham Smoot, to straighten out the fabulous burg of Provo, Utah as its new mayor. Smoot did his best to refuse, whereupon Brigham Young came out with the now infamous, "Go to Provo or go to Hell!" Clearly, this was before there was a See's Candy shop at the Mall. That changes everything. I would gladly go anywhere I could feast on See's "Bordeauxs" on a daily basis.
