Boxer Puppy Poster

It’s not easy to toot your own horn but allow me to point out a few key things that I believe make all my paintings uniquely my own. At first glance the image of the puppy is recognisable and dare I say cute, it pulls you in for a closer look and you realise the colours are bold purple and orange, not true to life at all and that's what makes it work. The brush strokes are free and relaxed yet with intention; however, as you get even closer the brush work becomes very tight and precise. Look at the puppy’s eyes and you’ll see just what that means. You do not see the iris but what you see is the reflection of the field in which he is laying. A loose brush throughout most of the piece juxtaposed against the realistic feel of his eyes is what subconsciously pulls the viewer into the painting.
