Boston Terrier Vintage Mousepad
Edwin Megargee (1883-1958) is the artist that created this wonderful Boston Terrier painting. He was known for his paintings, illustrations and etchings. Dog paintings classified as vintage, retro or nostalgia represent fragments of a lost past and show us how different many of these dogs appear when compared to current examples of their breeds. Over the years, I have become a collector of dog prints and treasure every one for different reasons and it is this passion for dog art that has inspired my vintage dog products. The Boston Terrier is a lively, highly intelligent, smooth coated, short-headed, compactly built, short-tailed, well-balanced dog. Their sweet disposition quickly endears them to everyone they meet making them a very popular breed. They require only a moderate amount of exercise and a minimum amount of grooming. The breed is easy to train and they are easy keepers, preferring to remain by their owner’s sides. The experience buying from Zazzle was great -- the custom made product arrived much faster than I expected (I am in Australia) and they kept me updated with progress emails.
The product itself is good quality and I like the simplistic elegant design. The only criticism I have is that it's not really accurately represented by the picture provided. I thought that the mousepad would be a non-porous or laminate surface and as such the gold writing would actually shine against the soft pink. However the design is printed on a thick fabric surface, so the gold colour is just the shade of gold but doesn't stand out from the pink background. (See picture)
FYI the soft pink is stronger in real life than in my personal picture. Good quality printing, slightly different look to what I expected. It also smells quite strong on arrival but it's only been a day so this may fade.
