Bonsai trees are not dwarf plants; they are actually full size trees grown in a shallow confined pot which produces a miniature rather than a dwarf. Bonsai trees can be of almost any variety. Bonsai are not actually indoor trees except for the tropical variety. They do best if grown outside and only brought indoors for a few days at a time for display purposes.
