The Boating Party (1893/94) by Mary Cassatt is a vintage impressionism fine art family portrait painting. The man is rowing the sailboat towards the shore on a sunny summer day. A mother and child on an afternoon boat ride in the south of France on the blue waters on the Mediterranean Sea. About the artist: Mary Stevenson Cassatt (1844-1926) was an American Impressionist painter who often created images of the social and private lives of women, with particular emphasis on the intimate bonds between mothers and children.
