This blue nautilus painting was orginally painted on fabric with watered down acrylics to emulate watercolor. This shell is from a creature in the octopus family (a cephalopod); he is primeval and fantastic. Usually the shell is pearly beige and brown outside and inside are chambers in a spiral inward to infinity. The creature makes bigger and bigger chambers as it grows up. It's a beautiful shell that has inspired me ever since I read Anne Morrow Lindberg's Gifts From the Sea- she talks about the symbol of the Argonauta. By L. Fluger http://www.Lillyarts.com

A beautiful card. Highest quality materials and print. Misunderstood the explanation of the gold accent. I took it as the design would be metallic in its appearance. Still a lovely card and I am extremely happy with it overall. Perfect, only that I expected the gold to be metallic.
