Texas Blue Agave plant photograph taken when visiting San Antonio missions. There's a tonne of history in Texas. The people have always been very independent, out there alone and getting little support. Interestingly enough, the Alamo has always been a symbol of outnumbered Texans fighting against the Mexican army led by General Lopez de Santa Anna, Sam Houston was there. Davy Crockett was there. "Remember the Alamo" has bee the famed battle cry. Today, the fort actually sits surrounded by the city of San Antonio. Go to Goliad, Texas to get a reality check. More Americans lost their lives at this remote post than at the Alamo. The fort and the mission are well preserved, and it's history is very interesting.
