Blind Baby Orangutan Overcoming Disabilities

A wildlife notecard about overcoming disabilities and handicaps for a heartwarming success story: This young male orangutan is still alive and doing well on the island of Borneo, and he has a starring role in the IMAX film "Born to Be Wild" When he was an infant, his mother was killed, and he was blinded in one eye as a result of injuries sustained at the same time. Here he sits in the lap of a care taker at Orangutan Foundation International's Care Centre on the island of Borneo. Sometimes this little guy is a bit more naughty than others, as if to prove that he is just as good as everybody else and that he won't put up with being picked on just because he is disabled.
