The Maneki Neko (招き猫?, literally "Beckoning Cat"; also known as Welcoming Cat, Lucky Cat, Money cat, or Fortune Cat. Sometimes incorrectly labelled Chinese Lucky Cat) is a common Japanese sculpture, often made of ceramic, which is believed to bring good luck to the owner. The sculpture depicts a cat (traditionally a Japanese Bobtail) beckoning with an upright paw, and is usually displayed—many times at the entrance—in shops, restaurants, pachinko parlours, and other businesses. Some of the sculptures are electric or battery-powered and have a slow-moving paw beckoning. In the design of the sculptures, a raised right paw supposedly attracts money, while a raised left paw attracts customers...

I bought this for my niece to use for her Easter egg hunt this Easter instead of buying a basket. I have a 1 room bnb. I bought only 4 of these with the thought of grocery bags for my guests usage. In California many places are "bring your own" bags. I can honestly say, "I'm impressed." I did not expect a great quality in material, but I was wrong. It is made in the U.S.A. and will last for years!I will purchase more of these. I used a black and white photo and just the name of my bnb. The image on the bag reflects the picture I provided.
