Bison are wandering grazers and usually travel in herds. The American Bison are the largest surviving terrestrial animals in North America. Bison are broad and muscular with shaggy coats of long hair. It was 101 degrees when I visited Caprock Canyons in Texas. After cooling off in the water, this guy was heading back to the herd. Who could blame him!!!
