Birthday Mucha Fruit CC0358 Art Nouveau Card

Birthday greeting card inspired by Fruit (1897) by Czech Art Nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha. The picture shows a young woman who is carrying a lot of fruit, including pears, apples and grapes. Her hair is beautifully decorated with flower petals. She is holding the fruit carefully, but a large row of grapes is slipping down the side of her arm. The young woman is gazing directly at the viewer, over her right shoulder. She may have stopped just to say 'Hello' or perhaps 'Happy Birthday!'. Perhaps she intends to give away all the fruit, as in a birthday present? Fruit are also common symbols of abundance, of health and prosperity, of the good life. In fact, most birthday messages focus exactly on those things, for example the message of this card : May these special wishes | Bring a birthday full of cheer | And may good fortune follow you | Throughout the coming year | Happy Birthday!
