Birth of Venus (aka La Naissance de Vénus) (1879) by Bouguereau is a vintage Victorian Era Greek mythology fine art realist portrait painting featuring Venus on a seashell as a fully mature woman from the sea to Paphos in Cyprus. Venus represents the goddess love and ideal beauty. About the artist: William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905) was an academic painter in realism and staunch traditionalist whose realistic style and mythological themes were modern interpretations of classical subjects.

This was exactly what was wanted for my piano crazy grandson! He is self taught & is now having lessons by a top teacher and has been asked to play at various venues in the US!
