About This Design

Berthe Morisot - The Fable Invitation

Berthe Morisot - The Fable Invitation

The Fable (La fable), painted in 1883 in oil on canvas by French Impressionist painter Berthe Morisot. The painting presents an intimate figure scene whose title evokes storytelling and childhood imagination. Morisot lets faces, clothing and surrounding space emerge through quick, luminous brushstrokes, emphasizing the fleeting character of the moment rather than tightly finished narrative detail.
