Belly Dancer 2: The Holy One

The image has been flipped horizontally from Judith Laura's larger work-in-progress so it faces the card opening. Other adjustments have also been made to the earlier card called Belly Dancer 1. Known best in the west as "belly dance," this dance is more properly called beladi or raqs sharki. It originated in the ancient near east as a sacred dance and a way to prepare young women for childbirth. Background: deep violet. Other colours: red, gold, lavender.

This was exactly what was wanted for my piano crazy grandson! He is self taught & is now having lessons by a top teacher and has been asked to play at various venues in the US!
