Belly Dancer 1: The Holy One

What Westerners call "Belly Dance" is more properly called Beladi or Raqs Shark and has ancient roots. It originated as a sacred dance and a way to prepare young women for childbirth. This dancer is a study for a larger work-in-progress by Judith Laura. Background deep violet, dancer's costume red, lavender, gold. See Belly Dancer 2 for later version, flipped so dancer faces card opening.
