Beginning to Look a Lot Like Isthmus-Christmas Card

This cheesy Christmas pun has been in my head since I was a first-year dental student learning to cut filling preparations in plastic teeth as the holidays were approaching. A narrow groove cut in a tooth to connect two larger cut-out areas is called an isthmus. As I was doing the cutting, I serenaded my dental student lab neighbors with "It's beginning to look a lot like isthmus." They felt that I was warped. Many have agreed with them through the years.
