This item was designed with an 1871 plat map of Batavia Illinois, a beautiful quaint river town on the banks of the Fox River in Northern Illinois, a Chicago Suburb close to Geneva and St. Charles, and Aurora Illinois. Batavia has a history associated with windmill manufacturing in the last century. The U.S Wind Engine and Pump Company started manufacturing windmills in Batavia in 1863. Ultimately six companies would manufacture windmills in Batavia.

I originally ordered 1 tie to test and ensure I liked it with the suits we had ordered! The tie came and it was perfect! We loved it! The colours were bright and the tie was beautifully made. I then ordered the 6 additional ties and the colours are slightly different. The 6 ties were a little less vibrant and the white background was slightly different!
