Basket of Eggs with Violets Magnet

Sometimes what seems like a mistake can lead to something better - Abuela Raquel wanted to make this very realistic, a went though six eggs to accurately capture the look she wanted. This was the most challenging still life Raquel painted -- with the varied textures of the basket and wood, as well as the fluidity of the egg. The wood came out so well by mistake--when she was erasing her initial work on the cutting board, it created the result she was trying to create!
