It is a typical parlor scene in Basel, Switzerland during the late Biedermeier period. The image is thought to be that of Gutzwiller's family with parents, children and pet dogs all joining in the fun. Musicians playing music on musical instruments including a piano in their home.

This was exactly what was wanted for my piano crazy grandson! He is self taught & is now having lessons by a top teacher and has been asked to play at various venues in the US!
