Banteay Srei Temple Chandi Poster

A small tower like this with real and false doors was usually built in a temple complex to commemorate someone important. Also called the Ladies’ Temple or Citadel of the Women because of the because of the delicacy of the carvings in the dark red sandstone. This well-restored Khmer Hindu temple is much older than and further north from Angkor Wat and was made mostly of red sandstone. The predominance of the monkey king Hanuman makes it clear who the temple complex is dedicated to. There is a lot more where this came from. Take a look at my gallery.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
