Ballerina Dying Swan Poster

I am not a dancer or a dance mom, but as a child I was fascinated with the deeply moving ballet featuring the dying swan. Watching the swan slowly perish onstage always gave me the chills and still does. This poster of Anna Pavlova, in black and white, captures the beauty of the ballet and the final pose of the dancer. It still moves me. I can't wait to frame it. I am enchanted with the simple greys featured in this poster. It is an old photograph, taken many years ago of the great Pavlova, and thus, blown up into a substantially large poster size, one cannot help but see the fuzziness and slightly grainy texture of the original image. However, its softness only makes the photograph more touching and profoundly beautiful.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
