In 2014 I had the good fortune to observe and photograph a pair of bald eagles as they tended their nest, sat on the eggs and cared for the hatchlings. The hatchlings road to independence is fraught with perils and the final image of the young eagles soaring in the sky provides comfort in that they are ready to face the world. I have chosen the photos that I feel best show the eagles' grace, power, beauty and tenderness.
