The Ötztal is a side valley of the Inn Valley in the Austrian state of Tyrol. The five municipalities of Sautens, Oetz, Umhausen, Längenfeld and Sölden are located in the 65 km long valley. The Ötztal is internationally renowned for its winter sports areas in Sölden-Hochsölden, Obergurgl-Hochgurgl and Oetz. Already 9000 years ago the high-mountain region of the Innerötztal valley was crossed by hunters from the Stone Age. An important discovery was made in 1991, when a Neolithic glacier mummy (called Ötzi) was found on the Tisenjoch (about 3300 BC). The valley was already a high grazing area. The rest of the Ötztal valley has so far been lacking finds from the Bronze and Iron Ages. The first popular tribe that settled in the Inn Valley and probably entered the front Ötztal in isolated places are the wheels. In 15 B.C. the Romans conquered the Alpine region and the Ötztal came to the province of Rätien. The decisive settlement of the Ötztal valley was made from the north by the bayonwares, which were first documented between the Alps and the Danube by 550. They mixed with the Romanesque creatures that live there. The first documentary information about the settlement of the valley was received from the 12th century: the Ötztal is mentioned as Ezital in 1163 and Sölden in 1166/1167 as Seldon. The first cemeteries in the Innerötztal valley are between 1288 and about 1370 n. It was first mentioned in a document. In the municipality of Sölden, one of these farms is the mountain courtyard.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
