Audubon Snowy Heron, or White Egret Plate CCXLII Poster
This is a reproduction version of the Snowy Heron or White Egret based on the series “Birds of America” by John James Audubon (1785 - 1851). Robert Havell (1793 - 1878) etched the original version. Creating the original vintage prints employed hand-coloured engraving techniques and the aquatint process on Whatman wove paper. The original Birds of America is very expensive because of the limited number of original books published and their popularity. The bookplates are incredible and awe-inspiring classics. This version has been digitally remastered and retouched. This version has also been modified to remove the borders. The border removal also resulted in the removal of plate numbers, artist, and engraver information.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
