Atomic Scan Tie

This pattern has been made from an 20nm scan of a crystal plane using an atomic force microscope. The smaller lines are created by the atoms sitting in the regularly spaced lattice. For when you still want to be a nerd, but don't want to broadcast it. (This is a scan of barite, for all you gem and mineral nerds.)
