Athena - Fantasy theme line illustration. Athena is the virgin deity of the ancient Greeks worshipped as the goddess of wisdom and fertility and strategy in war. At her birth she sprang forth fully formed from the head of her father, Zeus. This pen & ink and tempera rendering was originally created in 1971. I did a short self promotion print run for gifts, and it was self published as part of my 1976 “Portfolio” series. I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
