At the Rouge: The Dance by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, oil on canvas 1890, is a painting of a well-dressed crowd in elegant dresses and top hats dancing and enjoying the infamous nightlife of the dance hall in Montmartre, Paris. In the centre a dancing lady twirls her skirt while a gentleman in tall hat dances with her and a group of ladies in the foreground survey the scene. Lautrec painted many scenes from life at the centre of the 19th century Parisian avant-garde.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
