This ancient Akkadian design shows King Ashurbanipal and his beloved Queen taking a cup of wine in the garden of their estate. This gorgeous wall frieze image is a 2D print of a 3-Dimensional tablet on a sheet of ancient-styled Middle Eastern papyrus.
Ashurbanipal (Akkadian: Aššur-bāni-apli, (Aramaic: "ܐܵܫܘܿܪ ܒܵܢܝܼ ܐܵܦܠܝܼ") "Ashur is creator of an heir" (685 B.C. – c. 627 B.C.) was the son of Esarhaddon and the last great king of the Neo-Assyrian Empire (668 B.C. – c. 627 B.C.) He established the first systematically organised library in the ancient Middle East, the Library of Ashurbanipal, which survives in part today at Nineveh. I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
