ASL – American Sign Language – is the most beautiful and graphic language on the earth. Concepts are portrayed in the air, the hands creating meaning like a painter uses colour to evoke feelings. Just as we hear a rise and fall in a melody line, the essence of music is captured in the pulsating movement of signs set to music. There is nothing more gratifying. In this painting, one hand sweeps backward and then forward near the palm of the opposite hand and within the curve of the other arm – much like a choir or orchestra leader beats out the music that is played – thus artistically portraying the sign for “music.” Music for the eyes.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
