This art nouveau tree is a vintage tree pattern drawn by Art Nouveau illustrator Aubrey Beardsley(1872-1898). The image of the tree is in black and white, initially used as a book illustration. Trees were a recurring theme in the art nouveau era, from 1890 to 1910, when there was a return to nature, strong graphic line, and images that reminded the art nouveau artists of mediaeval etchings.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
