Art Nouveau Christmas Nativity (1898) Poster

This is a digitally enhanced print of a Christmas carol "Peace On Earth". It features the Nativity with Mary in a stall holding baby Jesus and Joseph behind her. They are framed in an Art Nouveau/Arts and Crafts style border of angels and flowers. The text header reads "Peace On Earth" in a nice mediaeval style font. This print was derived from an image from an antique 1898 issue of The Studio art magazine. J.A. Duncan was the artist.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
