Art Nouveau Charles Mackintosh The Wassail Poster
Charles Mackintosh, 1868 - 1928, Scottish architect, designer and artist, husband to Margaret Macdonald. Both famous Art Nouveau, Symbolist artists from the last century. Featured here, 'The Wassail' is an image of the original gesso wall frieze made for a ladies tearoom. Gesso was applied over stretched hessian giving it a textured look with earthy colours. His wife, Margaret was commissioned at the same time to do a very similar panel which was also hung in the tearoom labelled, 'The May Queen'.

I wanted this print to replace another print I had in an existing frame reusing the frame but because of the odd size of the frame, I had to specify a custom size for the new print. Zazzle gave my that option. It came out perfectly and I'm waiting for it to be reframed. Can't wait to have it hanging up on my wall. Picture is of the print temporarily in the frame before I took it to the framers for reframing. Paper and colors were perfect!

maybe you can add up on personalised option, laminated or a frame maybe . great job. but you can add an option if we wanted to have it laminated or frame as add up option

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
