Arslanbob is home to the world’s largest ancient natural walnut forest, a lush green paradise tucked into the mountains of southern Kyrgyzstan. Legend says that Alexander the Great once visited and brought samples of these walnuts back to Europe.
The forest is a place of incredible biodiversity and cultural importance for the local community. Huge, gnarled trees centuries old create a dense canopy, while nearby waterfalls cascade down limestone cliffs, making it a lush oasis in a rugged land.
