Armored Rhinoceros

Rhinos are large animals found in Africa and Asia. They belong to the group of mammals and have a herbivorous diet. Two striking features of these animals are the presence of horns, which are commercially targeted, and a thick skin, which, in some species, resembles large armor. Rhino is a term used to refer to five different species, and some of them are heading towards extinction. Some species of rhino are in great danger of becoming extinct. The Sumatran rhinoceros, for example, has an estimated total population of less than 80 individuals, making it one of the most endangered large mammals on the planet. One of the main reasons is illegal hunting. This hunting aims to remove the horns, which are used for ornamentation and even in traditional medicine.
