They are watching the American cavalry troops below, and they are planning an ambush. - The Apache warriors are armed with bows and arrows, and they are skilled hunters. They know how to use the terrain to their advantage, and they are confident that they can defeat the cavalry troops. - The cavalry troops are also skilled soldiers, but they are outnumbered and outgunned. They are also not familiar with the terrain, and they are at a disadvantage. - The Apache warriors attack the cavalry troops from the high ground.
