Colton's Illustrated & Embellished Steel Plate Map of the World on Mercator's Projection : Compiled from the Latest & Most Authentic Sources Exhibiting the Recent Arctic and Antarctic Discoveries & Explorations.
A colourful and very large example of Colton’s mid 19th century grand map. Includes illustrations of cities and people along filigreed border and an inset view of the Antarctic Continent as seen by the U.S. Ship Peacock, January 19th, 1840. Other features include a List of distances to and from various cities around the world at the top of map, an explanation of projection at the top of map, an explanation of scale in the lower left corner of map, and a list of geographical epochs in the lower right of map. Relief shown by hachures.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
