William Morris (1834-1896) was an English Textile Designer, Translator, Poet, Novelist, and Socialist Activist. Famous for the designs that epitomise the Arts and crafts Movement, this tapestry features trees, plants, and animals depicted in this style. A charming mixture of realism and graceful stylisation. "Greenery" is a masterwork of the British Arts and Crafts movement. John Henry Dearle created the design that the Morris & Co. tapestry workshop produced.
