This antique world map is part of famed cartographer Nicolaus Germanus’ wonderful rendition of Ptolemy’s ‘Cosmographia’ of 1482. The artist responsible for the woodcut map identifies himself at the top of the world map as Johannes of Arnsheim, making it the earliest datable printed map to have a signature.

The picture quality is great but you will notice pixelation and general haziness as the printed size increases. Despite some minor imperfections (probably due to a small digital image) I am very pleased. Was concerned about the colors being off or a highly distorted image from stretching, but the colors were spot on and the image quality was nearly perfect.

my staff loves it , and other branch is asking me where i got this and i give your website to them. maybe you can add up on personalised option, laminated or a frame maybe . great job. but you can add an option if we wanted to have it laminated or frame as add up option

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
