Antique Map of the World - 1795 Poster
"Map of the World from the best authorities" by Mathew Carey (1760-1839) who was Irish born publisher, who established businesses in Philadelphia, in the late 18th and early 19th century. He was of progressive political views, and he had to flee Ireland twice – once, he went to Paris, met Benjamin Franklin, and started a life long friendship with the American. Second time he had to flee Ireland, he went to Philadelphia. There, he pulled his American connections, borrowed some money and started a publishing business and a bookshop.

I liked how it wasn't just one color. It's a colorful map, although it doesn't seem like it when you're looking at the picture online. Very detailed and good quality! I picked matte because I wanted it not to be shiny but when I got it was more shiny than I expected. But still great quality and it won't effect the overall look of the product.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
