This square, marble coaster features a cartoon drawing of an anomalocaris ("anomalous shrimp"), one of the weird, extinct animals from the time of the Cambrian Explosion. The anomalocaris was a predatory sea creatures with two feeding appendages and a unique circular mouth structure. This prehistoric animal is most well known from the fossils of the Burgess Shale in the Canadian Rockies of British Columbia.
