This is a reconstruction of an Ancient Egyptian image of Pharaoh's being "Annointing by the Gods". The mythological image shows the king of Egypt being sanctified by annointing by Thoth, god of learning, and Horus, god of the rising sun. Thoth's usual implements were the Wan (the rod of power) and the Ankh (symbol of life). Horus was the patron of Pharaoh who was the manifestation of Horus in life and was the predominant god of war in the Egyptian pantheon.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
