Anatomy of a concussion. A severe trauma to the brain results in a flood of neurotransmitters such as glutamate. This causes neurons to fire incessantly resulting in an increased inflow of calcium into the neurons and an increased outflow of potassium. The excess calcium reduces oxygen metabolism in the neuron. The excess potassium constricts blood vessels which limits the supply of glucose to the neuron. The high energy demand, restricted blood flow and oxygen debt disrupt neuron function leading to mental confusion and failed memory. It might take days to recover fully from the chemical imbalance of a concussion.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
