American Suffrage Flag Votes for Women ERA Tie

Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote with this bold necktie. The American Suffrage Flag colours are gold, white, and purple. This is considered to be the official flag used by the American Suffrage Movement. When the 19th Amendment passed Congress in 1919 it still needed 3/4 of the state to ratify it in order for it to become law and added to the U.S. Constitution. A star was added each time one of the necessary 36 states approved the measure in their State Legislature. When the final state ratified it, the completed 19th Amendment Victory Flag was unfurled from the balcony of the National Woman's Party Headquarters in Washington D.C. on August 18, 1920 and all women across America finally had the right to vote.
