This image is of the original Star Spangled Banner, which Francis Scott Key observed floating over Fort McHenry the night he wrote the poem which, when set to the tune of "To Anacreon in Heaven," would become our national anthem. The flag is now on display at the Smithsonian Institute, where the holes blown into the flag during the battle have been "filled in" to show the flag's original appearance.

Was trying to replace a similar mug we bought at the smithsonian - this mug was the closest I could find. The shap is a bit basic (the original had a flared lip and more detailed handle), the original was also cream instead of pure white but it did make a quick fix replacement. The image was clear and matched colors correctly

The quality of these larger mugs is very good. I have been putting mine through the dishwasher all the time and it shows no signs of fading or dulling. Ergonomically these are lovely to hold and have fast become my favourite mug for a big cup of tea or coffee. Totally recommend getting the tea infuser with the mug especially if you like using loose leaf tea, which always tastes better from my experience and is better for the environment. Printing was good, bright and most importantly accurately matches the colouring shown on the website.
