American Army Cavalry Regiment 1899 Postcard

Vintage war photography showing an American Cavalry Regiment possibly from the Spanish American War, a 10 week combat in 1898 between Spain and the U.S. for control of Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Philippine Islands. The khaki uniform appears to be the one which became officially adopted as Model 1899, and the uniform also appears in photos showing men in Texas preparing for battle with Pancho Villa. The photo is the artist's personal property from family albums, handed down for generations. Unfortunately, there were no identifying comments on the loose photo.
