The photograph shows one of the 45,000 minerals and crystals on view at the Minerology Museum in the Natural History Museum of Florence, Italy. The fantastical sliced and polished amber, yellow, red and orange geode looks like bubbling molten lava, part of some primeval volcanic eruption and appears to glow from within with ancient fire. The poster makes a beautiful abstract painting, designed by Mother Nature, and would be the perfect gift for students of natural sciences and geology as well as the geologist in your life. I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
